About The Position
The Background Investigator is a civilian role within the Public Safety Department of the City of Los Angeles, responsible for conducting thorough personal and professional background investigations for public safety candidates. This includes interviewing various individuals such as employers, co-workers, and family members, compiling findings into reports, and making recommendations based on the investigations. Higher-level investigators may also supervise staff involved in these duties.
