Backend Developer

This role is part of the Global Workflow Team at WPP IT, the IT services provider for WPP, a creative transformation company. The role involves working with the team responsible for delivering end-to-end workflow processes for all markets worldwide. The main responsibilities include building and managing integration solutions between systems, designing and deploying ETL and data management processes, and collaborating with business partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a technical background, experience with APIs and scripting languages, and knowledge of Azure DevOps and data modeling.

• Assist in the build, development, and management of integration solutions between systems using API or ETL.
• Design, build, and deploy ETL and data management processes.
• Build and oversee data architecture and pipelines platforms and systems.
• Participate in developing, designing, configuring, and documenting database architecture.
• Conform to agile development practices.
• Work collaboratively with Business Partner Team and Business Stakeholder during projects scoping and feasibility phases.
• Provide production support for data loading jobs and interfacing of integrated systems.
• Write customized queries to generate automatic periodic reports.
• Build applications writing SQL scripts to manipulate data and/or writing specific instructions for external parties.
• Maintain or upgrade existing solutions.
• Attend key design meetings and provide support.
• Perform other ad hoc duties.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other technical field is highly preferred
• Sound experience with APIs and scripting languages
• Experience in Azure DevOps/Git code repository and branching strategies and Release Management and any deployment tools
• Experience creating and managing ETL/ELT process using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Processes and writing TSQL (views/functions/stored procedures)
• Experience with data modeling and good understanding of relational and dimensional modeling
