About The Position

The AVP, Group Product Management for Disability and Absence at Lincoln Financial Group is responsible for leading the strategy and roadmap for critical product offerings in this area. This role involves acting as a primary liaison to business stakeholders, managing a team focused on maintaining and enhancing disability and absence products, and ensuring alignment with departmental profitability. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to drive product management and lifecycle initiatives while providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • 10+ Years experience in group insurance or employee benefits with direct expertise in Disability, Absence, PFML and Statutory Disability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge on Disability, Absence, PFML and Statutory Disability products and current and emerging developments/trends.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and thought leadership to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders.
  • Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation.
  • Strategically defines the vision and success measures for prioritized product offerings.
  • Provides leadership & expertise to team to drive product suite management and implementation.
  • Assesses value, develops cases, and prioritizes work to ensure proper linkage with the product strategy.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to gather and support prioritization of product requirements.
  • Leads collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop and manage products & services.
  • Identifies & recommends improvements to senior management & leadership.
  • Anticipates & provides strategies/solutions to complex issues with product heads.
  • Collaborates with various business areas to manage product & profit levers.
  • Balances stakeholder priorities and development team capacity.
  • Prioritizes and sequences product backlog according to business value.
  • Shares expertise and articulates business values to team members.
