About The Position

The Automation Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of power and control systems within the facility. This role involves assisting in the installation of new equipment, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations through proper documentation. The technician will also respond to emergency situations and recommend improvements to enhance production efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience in repairing and maintaining power and control systems.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for automation systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair systems and components effectively.
• Proficiency in interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recommend improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform the repair and maintenance of the power and control systems of the equipment, processes, and facility.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment, processes, and facilities.
• Perform the preventative maintenance program for the power and control and automation systems.
• Assist in the diagnoses and repairs of systems and components as needed.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts.
• Prepare documentation for compliance with regulations and conveying information.
• Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety and production concerns.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as assigned.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of equipment.
• Resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
• Maintain time and production records.
