About The Position

The Market at Sea Island is seeking a part-time Attendant to provide friendly, attentive, and timely service while promoting the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. The role involves upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Entry-level experience in food and beverage service preferred in the retail or food and beverage industry
  • High School Diploma or equivalent credentials preferred
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change and process credit card transactions
  • Ability to effectively operate The Market Point of Sale System (POS)
  • Proficient with copier, fax, telephone and calculator; has a working knowledge of word-based programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situations

Responsibilities

  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
  • Record and bill orders accurately into the register system and process payments using guest/member cards in accordance with accounting procedures
  • Promptly open and close the Barista station while adhering to the outlined opening and closing duties
  • Clean and organize work station and maintain all products during service including coffee cups, creamer, pastries, sugars, straws, napkins, coffee and all other beverages
  • Clean and maintain all equipment used for providing service on the Barista station
  • Maintain a passing score on all menu and beverage testing
  • Professionally and accurately make all beverages to the standards set by management, including daily or weekly special drinks
  • Accountable for guest satisfaction by ensuring Sea Island's standards are met; address guest concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area
  • Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues and follow-up on issues as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unsafe practices to supervisor immediately
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Execute other duties as delegated by leadership
  • Work on the Point of Sale system and learn how to ring in items, receive payment, create voids or returns
