About The Position

Nucor is seeking an Air Separation (ASU) Plant Facility Manager for its new facility located in Apple Grove, WV. This role involves overall management of site operations, including customer relations, onsite distribution management, and ASU operating performance. The Facility Manager will be responsible for managing production rates, product quality parameters, efficiency, operating budget, and achieving safety, FDA, quality, and environmental objectives. The position requires leading and training plant operations and management teammates, who will operate the plant 24/7/365. The Facility Manager will also be the key contact for communication with customers and will evaluate current process conditions to implement plant loading plans. This role includes 24-hour on-call responsibility and leading continuous improvement of safety, environmental, quality, and compliance programs.

Requirements

  • Ten years' experience working as a manager in an ASU environment.
  • Advanced understanding and hands-on experience of the operation and maintenance of cryogenic air separation plants.
  • Experience with software systems used at an UIGI air separation plant, including MS Office suite.
  • Understanding of electrical principles and skills in mechanical system maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment for repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Experience in standard automation software, control system programming, and human machine interface (HMI).
  • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving issues with process and plant equipment.
  • Experience training teammates on plant operations and quality control procedures.
  • Experience in water treatment technology and principles of industrial refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all site operation activities including customer relations and onsite distribution management.
  • Oversee ASU operating performance including production rates and product quality.
  • Lead and train assigned plant operations and management teammates.
  • Coordinate plant production and maintenance activities with customers.
  • Evaluate current process conditions and implement plant loading plans.
  • Maintain 24-hour on-call responsibility.
  • Lead continuous improvement of safety, environmental, quality, and compliance programs.
