About The Position

The Learning Society Fellow position at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine involves participating in the Shared Discovery Curriculum, which emphasizes an experience-based approach to medical education. Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in basic or social sciences, or MD/DO with a valid medical license.
  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching medical students or residents.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct case-based small group instruction for medical students.
  • Facilitate small group debriefing sessions regarding students' clinical experiences.
  • Meet with students for coaching, mentoring, and portfolio reviews.
  • Provide coverage and back-up for small group sessions as needed.
  • Complete required documentation of small group and individual student meetings in a timely manner.
  • Participate in weekly faculty development and working sessions.
  • Engage in learning society activities and educational scholarship.
