Associate Educator, Data Scientist

The job overview for this position is that BrainStation is seeking a full-time Associate Educator to join their team and deliver lessons for their Data Science program. The Associate Educator will have the opportunity to teach, research, and work on real analysis problems while contributing to BrainStation's Data Science Diploma program. They will also be responsible for delivering lectures, mentoring students, facilitating in-class activities, and continuously improving the educational experience for students. The ideal candidate should have experience as a Data Scientist or Analytics professional, strong programming and data visualization skills, and a passion for education and creating positive learning experiences.

• Contribute to BrainStation's Data Science Diploma program
• Deliver lectures and mentor students in Data Science
• Facilitate in-class activities, group discussions, and demos
• Provide constructive feedback for evaluating student work
• Apply BrainStation's Agile Education methodologies to improve the educational experience
• Continuously improve own skills and collaborate with other faculty members to build digital platform and tools
• Define the education experience of the future
• Have 2+ years experience as a Data Scientist or Analytics professional
• Possess a Bachelor's degree relevant to the subject matter
• Have a strong command of querying and programming languages SQL, R, and Python
• Be proficient in visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, and matplotlib/seaborn/plotly in Python packages
• Have experience applying various methods of numerical and categorical modeling techniques and machine learning methods
• Have hands-on development experience with version control systems (Git)
• Have practical experience designing and applying data science processes
• Have experience in a teaching or mentoring role and comfortable speaking to large groups
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• 2+ years experience as a Data Scientist or Analytics professional and a Bachelor's degree relevant to the subject matter
• Strong command of querying and programming languages SQL, R and python - numpy, pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow & Keras), and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, matplotlib/seaborn/plotly in python packages
• Experience applying various methods of numerical and categorical modelling techniques and supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods (OLS regression and GLMs, logistic regression, KNN, SVM, decision trees/random forest, clustering and cluster analysis, dimensionality reduction, neural networks)
• Hands-on development experience working with version control systems (we use Git)
• Practical experience designing and applying data science processes to conduct experiments using a variety of tools and methods, and can speak to their complexities in a simple and logical manner
• Experience in a teaching or mentoring role, and are comfortable speaking to large groups
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
