About the position

Under the general direction of the Quality Manager this position supervises the quality activities ensuring product quality objectives and product quality support to comply with the established Quality Management System as required by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001-2015, NSF, Underwriter Laboratories (UL) and Canadian Standard Association (CSA). The responsibility of this position includes activities at Manufacturing Assembly Operations among other.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective supervision of the assigned Quality personnel to achieve the established production goals to meet quality standards.
  • Directs the development and/or improvement of quality control methods and processes.
  • Develops and maintains the assigned quality plans, testing procedures, workmanship standards, specifications, visual aids, etc. to assure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the inspection, auditing, and recordkeeping of the assigned manufacturing areas to comply with requirements.
  • Ensures that new design samples, production samples, system auditing and end user tests are performed, and records are maintained according to the Hubbell Caribe Limited manufacturing and Quality System requirements.
  • Responsible for the quality records retention activities pertaining to inspection and test results, analysis of statistical data, calibration records of measurements and test instruments, QC Holds, Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, Defective Material Reports (DMR's) and corrective actions.
  • Assists the assigned manufacturing area in the gathering, upkeep, and analysis of scrap, rework, sorting, QC Holds, and material returned to supplier.
  • Formulates recommendations for scrap, rework, and sorting reduction and/or elimination.
  • Characterizes process, machinery, and/or equipment problems affecting quality.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participates in the evaluation of new and/or changes in material, process, tooling, and/or machinery and/or equipment to determine impact in the established Quality System.
  • Assures that the assigned Manufacturing area personnel are properly trained in the Business Unit manufacturing methods, and quality policies, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensioning and tolerance, understand basic geometric tolerance, standard callouts/symbols.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business both written and verbal.
  • Need to be self-directed to meet needs of the area(s) of responsibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Manufacturing Assembly Industry, Production, and/or Quality experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience preferably at Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and statistical software such as Minitab.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English and Spanish languages.
