About The Position

The University of Pennsylvania's Department of Psychiatry is seeking an Assistant Professor on the tenure track in the Center for Neuromodulation in Depression and Stress. This position focuses on the fundamental properties of neural networks, neuroplasticity, and the application of computational techniques to study brain circuitry in psychiatric disorders. The role includes teaching, mentoring, and conducting research aimed at developing prognostic biomarkers and treatment targets for neuropsychiatric disorders.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated qualifications in research in neuroimaging, neuromodulatory techniques, cognitive neuroscience, and/or translational research.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with techniques such as ECT, VNS, and biofeedback.
  • Interest in task-based and resting state fMRI.

Responsibilities

  • Teach seminars in prediction models for graduate students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows.
  • Mentor graduate students, post-docs, and junior faculty.
  • Conduct research in neuroimaging and neuromodulatory strategies, particularly Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
  • Develop prognostic biomarkers and treatment targets through understanding the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders.
