The purpose of this position is to support the Executive Director of Transportation & Transit in overseeing the professional, technical, managerial, and administrative operations of the County's Transportation Department. This is a managerial role within the Transportation & Transit Department, responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable County, State, and Federal codes and regulatory requirements. This position is instrumental in advancing the County's strategic transportation and mobility objectives, providing executive leadership over pre-construction design and traffic engineering functions. The role includes direct oversight of the implementation of the adopted transportation work program and strategic initiatives, negotiation and execution of development agreements, procurement and management of professional services contracts, and integration of multimodal facilities and transit systems into the transportation network. The Assistant Director also plays a key role in coordinating with external stakeholders including MetroPlan Orlando, the Florida Department of Transportation, local municipalities, LYNX, SunRail, developers, consultants, and various regional and national transportation partners to support the implementation of Osceola County's long-range transportation plan. As a member of the department's leadership team, the Assistant Director works in close collaboration with the Directors of Transportation Planning, Construction, and Operations to ensure strategic alignment and effective program delivery across all functions.
