About The Position

The Apprentice / APP Set-Up Operator position at Connecticut Spring & Stamping is an entry-level role focused on learning to set up, adjust, and operate complex automatic machinery in the manufacturing of springs and metal forms. The position is designed for individuals who are eager to earn while they learn, with a strong emphasis on adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Trade school education or equivalent skills.
• Knowledge of basic shop math.
• Ability to read simple blueprints.
• Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and inspect parts closely.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift objects up to 35 lbs unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Learn the technique of machine setup under close direction.
• Make minor repairs to machine tools as needed.
• Remove and replace tools, cams, etc., from machinery.
• Use proper machine support to handle heavy machinery, tools, and materials.
• Maintain production records accurately.
• Observe company processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in Lean Projects to enhance efficiency.
• Adhere to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
• Assist or instruct other personnel as required.
