About the position
The job overview for the position of Anzisha Prize Application Analyst is to be part of a team responsible for selecting Africa's brightest entrepreneurs for the year 2024. The analyst will read, review, interview, and evaluate a large number of applications and semi-finalist candidates. They will utilize ALA processes, tools, and systems to capture and present information on applicants and finalists. The main goal is to identify and support very young entrepreneurs from across the African continent, contributing to the mission of increasing job generative entrepreneurs in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out activities to ensure the selection of the 2024 Top 30 Anzisha Prize finalists
- Reading and rating a minimum of 400 applications
- Phoning and evaluating a minimum of 100 semi-finalist candidates
- Using ALA processes, tools, and systems to capture, share, and present information on applicants and finalists during the selection process
- Packaging applicant data for the application reading and review
Requirements
- Ability to read, review, interview, and select entrepreneurs for the Anzisha Prize
- Familiarity with identifying very young entrepreneurs (15 to 22 year olds) from across Africa
- Experience in reading and rating a minimum of 400 applications
- Proficiency in evaluating a minimum of 100 semi-finalist candidates through phone interviews
- Knowledge of ALA processes, tools, and systems for capturing, sharing, and presenting information on applicants and finalists during the selection process
- Strong organizational skills for packaging applicant data for application reading and review

- Duration: 4 months starting 1 October 2023
- Location: ALA Campus (if based in Johannesburg, South Africa) or Remote
- Reporting to the Anzisha Prize Growth and Campaigns Manager
