The Advanced Practice Clinical Provider (APRN-Trauma/Cardiology) is a Clinical Nurse Leadership role in the Emergency Department (ED) of St Bernards Medical Center. This individual functions as a medical provider, rendering safe, competent quality care based on clinical practice guidelines for Trauma/Cardiology from the respective governing organizations (ACC, ACEP, ACS, etc). Acts as the primary ED Provider for indicated patients referred by medical providers. Acts as the primary Acute care provider in the ED for Tele-Cardiology. Acts as the ED-OBS/Cardiology provider in the ED. Demonstrates the ability to work in a team. Displays effective communication and critical thinking. Responsible for deploying Cardiac telemedicine in the Emergency Department where the individual will act as the provider. Emergency/Observation Primary who will act as a clinical provider for ER patients as indicated by Medical Providers. Will help/assist with all ED patients including level 1 and level 2 traumas. May assist with procedures, Full Arrests, and the critically ill. The provider will act as a leader for the Triage Team that assists the waiting room patients. The Provider will manage and oversee operations. They may act as the primary provider or assist triage with Waiting room patients as needed. The provider will also assist in ED Observation patients. With ED Observation, will manage and disposition the patients after required testing/time has been achieved. This may include cardiac, Overdose, Stroke, HTN, Etc. The provider will provide Cardiology Services within the Emergency Department. The provider will act as a consulting provider within the ED for St. Bernard's Heart and Vascular. During the consult, the provider may assume the patient as the primary provider and provide the appropriate disposition to the patient. They will setup and schedule and required outpatient testing as deemed necessary by Cardiology. This includes Cardiology, Electrophysicology and CV Surgery. The provider will Provide Telemedicine services for Cardiology to outlying facilities including but not limited to Great River Medical Center, South Mississippi County Hospital, Crossridge, Five Rivers and Lawrence Memorial. The provider will facility transfer when needed for cardiology services. Will also setup and schedule required outpatient testing as deemed necessary by Cardiology. This includes Cardiology, Electrophysicology and CV Surgery.
