About the position
Road to Hire is seeking an analytics instructor to lead and facilitate a curriculum aimed at teaching young adults analytics and business intelligence skills. The instructor will be responsible for managing the classroom, overseeing participant development, and identifying and addressing any gaps or challenges. Additionally, the instructor should be motivated by the opportunity to create employment opportunities for unemployed and underemployed young adults in the community. The role involves teaching various analytical tools and requires strong knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau. The ideal candidate should have experience as a data analyst or business analyst, or in teaching and education.
Responsibilities
- Teach young adults to utilize tools like Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, and other modern analytical tools to manipulate, explore, and leverage data to solve a wide variety of business problems
- Manage classroom logistics such as managing attendance, grading, preparing the weekly schedule, leading continued learning sessions, overseeing the development of participants in the program, etc.
- Advise and mentor students
- Assess instructional effectiveness and conduct training impact evaluations; be open to constructive criticism and constant curriculum improvement
- Provide feedback on and updates to the curriculum
- Prefer 3+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst/Business Analyst, or comparable experience in teaching and/or education, preferably within high school, college classrooms, or analytics boot camp settings
- Strong knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau or other data visualization tools
- Results Driver that has the aptitude to make real-time decisions, measure results and change course when necessary
- Accountable team player with exceptional communication skills and authority with MS Office
- Growth Mindset with the ability to identify gaps/challenges and develop specific accountability/support plans to keep students on track for program completion
- Strong relationship-building skills; ability to quickly build trust with a wide variety of different stakeholders
- Comfortable working autonomously
- Willing to teach in person at least 3 days a week
- Passionate about creating employment opportunities for underserved young adults.
