About The Position

The Ambulatory RN at the Heart Station is responsible for providing patient and family-centered care to individuals of all ages. The role emphasizes safety, education, and the need for rest in the care plan, which is tailored to the clinical needs of the patient. The nurse's interactions with patients, families, and team members reflect the vision of the Family Centered Care Program.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • One year of med-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care and Adult ED.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU, and NICU.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient/family centered care using the nursing process focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment ensuring patient privacy and professional behavior.
  • Utilizes and promotes technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety.
  • Communicates effectively to share information throughout the continuum of care.
  • Participates in a professional practice model including governance, standards of care, peer review, and professional development.
  • Performs and maintains competency for point-of-care testing as assigned.
  • Acts as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care.
  • Coordinates effective and efficient delivery of patient care services applying care management principles.
  • Demonstrates professional growth and promotes a healthy work environment.
