The Department of University Housing is recruiting for a full-time, live-out Area Coordinator of Residence Life Operations (Administrative Supervisor). The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee houses 4,300 residents in high-rise towers, residence halls, and apartments. UWM University Housing is committed to enhancing community members' cultural understanding, leadership skills, academic success, social connections, and social responsibility by creating safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living learning environments that inspire growth and development. The Administrative Supervisor is a mid-level manager, reporting to the Residence Life Manager of the University Housing Community Standards unit. This position is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and management to all functions of a 24/7/365 security/service desk operations for all University Housing facilities (Cambridge Commons, RiverView, Sandburg Residence Halls, and Kenilworth Square Apartments). The position encompasses the development, evaluation, training, and supervision of around eighty student staff team members, in addition to providing indirect oversight of RA staff who assist with building access monitor station support. This position provides leadership related to cross-over training of the Residence Life Staff members (Residence Life Coordinators and Resident Assistants (RA)) related to customer service, building access, life safety measures, security, administrative and building protocols. Training and development of housing team members is considered an ongoing commitment to ensuring full-time and student staff are provided effective training and development methods that support the departmental mission. Through the training and development of the team, this position works to help create student leadership succession within the department. Serving on the rotating administrative on-call duty response team, this position entails addressing high-level events involving student and guest behavior including mental health issues, suicidal ideation, sexual assaults, and violations related to alcohol and drug incidents that call for availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
