About The Position

The Adjunct Laboratory Instructor for Radiologic Technology at Quincy College is responsible for supervising and instructing students in a lab setting, specifically for the Radiographic Procedures course. This role involves providing high-quality teaching, maintaining a conducive learning environment, and participating in the assessment and evaluation of students' skills. The instructor will also engage in continuous professional development and adhere to college policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current registration in radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current Radiologic Technologist License from the MA Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program.
  • Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • Teaching experience in the subject area at the college level preferred.
  • Understanding of and commitment to education and working with a diverse student population.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and instruct Radiologic Technology students in the lab setting.
  • Follow the laboratory schedule as outlined in the didactic course syllabus.
  • Participate in the assessment process utilizing tools provided by the didactic course instructor.
  • Review and revise laboratory assignments periodically.
  • Prepare and clean up the laboratory before and after each scheduled session.
  • Participate in inventory control to determine when supplies are needed.
  • Perform skill demonstrations and assess return demonstrations from each student.
  • Provide immediate feedback to students following evaluations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline.
  • Attend laboratory sessions as scheduled and faculty meetings as requested.
  • Maintain a laboratory environment that promotes discussion and respects each student.
  • Adhere to policies set forth in the Faculty Handbook, including attendance and make-up policies.
  • Prepare in advance for each class and communicate any changes from the course syllabus to the didactic instructor and students as needed.
  • Promptly return all exams and homework, providing feedback on students' work.
  • Turn in all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
