About the position
The Account Coordinator position at the FT is responsible for making initial contact with clients and serving as the voice of the company. This role involves lead generation through proactive cold calling and utilizing knowledge of the sector/industry. The Account Coordinator will also monitor competitor activity, handle incoming leads, and record all sales activity using Salesforce. Collaboration with colleagues across the business and the organization of networking opportunities are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the Account Coordinator may occasionally share knowledge of relevant sectors and assist in the organization of Special Reports.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the growth of current revenue from the team's patch as well as generate new business
- Make proactive calls and send emails to prospective clients, utilizing knowledge of the sector/industry
- Monitor competitor titles for T&E client activity and liaise with relevant sales personnel/offices to target the account
- Deal with incoming leads quickly and effectively, assessing whether they require senior input or can be followed up on independently
- Use Salesforce to record and track all sales activity as part of daily workflow
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to maximize revenue opportunity
- Create and manage an events database for potential networking opportunities and relevant client events/key periods throughout the year
- Occasionally share knowledge of relevant sectors, competitors, or media formats by presenting to the team
- Assist in the organization of Special Reports
- Liaise with European colleagues and assist them with specific sector requests
- Be able to identify proactive leads based on industry news and be comfortable with cold-calling clients and agencies
- Learn and develop Salesforce knowledge quickly and become familiar with the platform
- Have strong attention to detail when it comes to data input.
