About The Position
As a Tufting Machine Operator on the 3rd shift at Mohawk Industries, you will play a crucial role in the production process of our flooring products. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently operate the tufting machine, ensuring that all products meet the high-quality standards that Mohawk is known for. This includes checking the face of the product for any quality defects, correcting those defects, threading needles, and replacing any yarn that may have run out from the creel. You will also be responsible for marking and doffing all rolls produced, as well as assisting in changing the primary backing of the products. In addition to these tasks, you will need to check rugs and yarn to ensure they match the order specifications. Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment is essential, and you will be expected to follow all housekeeping procedures associated with your position. You will also be responsible for repairing minor machine malfunctions and lifting or moving heavy objects, including loading and unloading blade blocks. Meeting production, quality, and safety needs set by management is a key expectation, along with adhering to all safety procedures related to your job duties. Furthermore, you will be tasked with placing recyclable materials in the correct containers and reporting any unsafe acts or hazards in your work area.
