The Student Services Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the Center for Access & Postsecondary Success at the University of Connecticut. Under the guidance of the Associate Director of CAPS, this position is responsible for developing and administering the day-to-day program activities and educational support aimed at facilitating student success. The Program Coordinator will coordinate various administrative activities, organize projects, and execute initiatives that align with the department's mission to assist students in their transition to college, promote their persistence, and encourage their holistic development and engagement at UConn. In this role, the Program Coordinator will assist in supervising, training, and evaluating student staff, establishing work schedules, and prioritizing tasks. They will also be involved in the creation of informational and promotional materials for outreach activities, which may include mass emails, flyers, newsletters, and social media posts. Additionally, the Coordinator will maintain the department's website and social media accounts, ensuring that all electronic sources are up-to-date and engaging. The position also entails planning and implementing the CAPS summer program, which includes scheduling activities, managing logistics, and facilitating orientation programming. The Coordinator will monitor student participation and engagement through various tracking systems, providing reports that evaluate student progress and program effectiveness. They will assist in program evaluation, data collection, and the preparation of reports that highlight trends and recommend improvements. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator will oversee the online financial literacy program, developing and facilitating workshops to enhance students' financial knowledge. They will also play a key role in recruiting and training student leaders, including members of the CAPS Student Advisory Board and peer mentors. Coaching and advising students regarding academic programs and success strategies will also be part of their responsibilities, along with teaching UNIV/FYE courses when possible. This position requires a commitment to supporting first-generation and low-income students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that all students have the resources and guidance they need to thrive in their academic pursuits.
