The Skilled Operative at Kerry plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and continual production of vinegar within the plant. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work independently during assigned shifts, monitoring production processes and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency. The operative will be responsible for taking and testing production samples, making nutrient batches, and conducting physical inventories to ensure that production levels are met and maintained. The role demands a keen attention to detail and the ability to make timely decisions based on production needs. In this position, the operative will monitor the levels of vinegar tanks, ensuring that the flow in and out of the tanks is consistent and efficient. They will utilize various test devices, including auto-filtration and Alkomat, to check production samples and make adjustments as needed. Calibration of lab and alcohol instrumentation is also a key responsibility, along with monitoring filtration units and nutrient levels in feed tanks. The operative will mix batches as necessary to maintain an adequate supply and will oversee multiple pumping operations, ensuring that all destinations are accounted for and stopping operations when necessary. The role requires the ability to work alone and maintain focus on detailed tasks, as well as the capability to operate a forklift and work from heights when required. Flexibility in working hours, including off-shifts and weekends, is essential to meet the demands of the production schedule.
