About The Position

The Senior Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) Engineer position at SMS involves providing critical information system administration with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and integration support of the ESS tool suite, which includes managing the deployment and operation of McAfee/Trellix products across various unclassified and classified network environments. This role requires a deep understanding of host-based security and compliance, as well as the ability to analyze and troubleshoot system issues effectively. In this dynamic role, the ESS Engineer will operate the security and compliance baseline configuration, ensuring that best practices are followed for the endpoint security solutions deployed across multiple locations. The engineer will manage a suite of products, including Trellix Agent, ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Endpoint Security (ENS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and more. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing data generated by the ePO console, deploying and implementing ESS solutions, and coordinating system activities such as configuration, tuning, and optimization of suite components. Collaboration is key in this position, as the engineer will work closely with team members, network administrators, and security personnel to enhance endpoint security operations. The role also involves providing mechanisms to prevent and detect malicious activities across DoD networks, ensuring compliance with established standards and practices. The engineer will be tasked with maintaining documentation, conducting assessments, and supporting external deliverables related to continuous monitoring and risk scoring. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree or equivalent experience, along with relevant certifications in information assurance and cybersecurity. A strong commitment to maintaining security standards and a proactive approach to system management are essential for success in this role. The position is based in McLean, Virginia, with opportunities for on-site operations at various customer locations throughout the United States.
