About The Position

The Key Carrier role at HomeGoods is an elevated position that extends the responsibilities of a Coordinator. This role involves alternating between Coordinator duties and taking on leadership responsibilities to maintain all aspects of the store. Key Carriers are expected to provide exceptional customer service, ensure operational procedures are followed, and support the training and development of Associates while promoting a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • 1 year of retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Team player with effective collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
  • Understanding of merchandise flow in stores
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coach, delegate, and follow up on multiple tasks
  • Capability to act quickly under challenging circumstances
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of Coordinator and occasionally act as Key Carrier, taking on leadership responsibilities.
  • Model exceptional customer service and create a positive customer experience.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure store team performs tasks in accordance with store plans and prioritize as needed.
  • Address immediate customer service issues and provide coaching to Associates.
  • Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure Associates adhere to all operational procedures and execute opening/closing procedures according to guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback to and from Associates.
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
