The Psychotherapist position at Valley Medical Center involves providing psychotherapy services to patients at the Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic. This role is essential in delivering mental health support to a diverse population, including adolescents, adults, older adults, and couples. The Psychotherapist will be responsible for conducting mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, and utilizing various therapeutic modalities to address the needs of patients. The position requires a Master's degree from an accredited institution and a Washington State License as an MSW, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist, or a PhD psychologist. The Psychotherapist will work under the supervision of the Clinic Manager and is expected to maintain a high level of productivity, with a goal of 90% direct patient care. In addition to providing therapy, the Psychotherapist will document patient encounters in the EPIC system, ensuring that all notes and communications are completed within 24 hours. The role also involves making internal referrals to prescribing clinicians when necessary and collaborating with a medical team to manage patient care effectively. The Psychotherapist will participate in regular discussions with other therapists and prescribing clinicians to stay updated on clinic policies and best practices. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
