Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) Academy Program Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Community Health Worker Academy's objectives and strategies. This position is hybrid, allowing for both in-person and remote work. The CHW Academy Program Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and will be responsible for managing the overall program goals while coordinating with Program Directors and clinical partners. The role involves implementing and modeling teaching approaches for Community Health Workers, designing curricular modules based on the Community Health Worker Core Consensus Project's competencies, and developing evaluation tools to assess the appropriateness of training curricula. The Program Manager will also support grant writing and submissions, manage program facilitation, and oversee the progress of Academy staff and student interns. Additionally, the Program Manager will act as a liaison with various CDU offices, manage budgets, and represent the Academy both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, education, or a related field, with a minimum of 2-4 years of program management experience, preferably in public health research and education. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is desirable, along with experience working with clinical partners and Community Health Workers. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders are essential for success in this role.
