About The Position
The San Francisco boutique law firm SSL Law Firm LLP is seeking a highly skilled transactional real estate paralegal with a specialty in title and survey. This position is integral to assisting with title and due diligence review, as well as managing all facets of closings for complex lending and commercial real estate transactions. The firm prides itself on providing an alternative to the mega-firm culture while upholding rigorous professional standards. As a paralegal in this firm, you will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced attorneys and clients on cutting-edge transactions in a friendly and respectful environment. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing title reports, underlying title documents, surveys, and due diligence materials. You will prepare title objections, responses, and title policy requirements for commercial loans, acquisitions, and sales. Additionally, you will negotiate title insurance coverage and policies directly with title companies and underwriters, draft correspondence regarding transaction issues, and review purchase agreements, contracts, and leases. You will also be tasked with preparing closing checklists and critical date timelines, forming and maintaining business entities, drafting closing documents and escrow instructions, coordinating closings with attorneys, clients, lenders, and escrow/title officers, and preparing closing binders.
