About The Position
The Maintenance Generalist position at Tyson Foods is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and company assets within a safe working environment. This position operates primarily on weekends, specifically Friday through Sunday, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The facility, located in South Hutchinson, Kansas, produces Pepperoni and Sausage Crumbles and operates six days a week. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment, adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures at all times. In this role, the Maintenance Generalist will engage in a variety of tasks including welding, cutting, and electrical repairs. The responsibilities also extend to the removal and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water pipes, valves, and other systems. A strong mechanical aptitude is essential, and candidates must demonstrate their applied mechanical ability through their work history or by being graduates of an industrial maintenance training program. The ability to read and understand technical assignments, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and possess basic math skills is also required. Familiarity with various electrical and pneumatic power tools and the ability to read drawings and schematics of hydraulic and basic electrical systems will be beneficial in this role.
