About The Position

The Human Resource Lead position at Belk is a full-time role responsible for overseeing various human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and scheduling. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures while supporting the store's operational needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in retail and/or HR.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Workday.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of human resources, scheduling, and cash office functions.
  • Manage associate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
  • Ensure compliance with I-9/E-Verify and background checks.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process and maintain personnel files.
  • Administer benefits and ensure timely communication to employees.
  • Assist with employee relations by witnessing coaching and counseling sessions.
  • Submit termination requests and administer exit interviews as directed.
  • Process Workday changes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare and process payroll, meeting weekly deadlines.
  • Train new associates and managers on scheduling processes and system navigation.
  • Collaborate with store executives to provide timely schedules to associates.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to address time-off requests and availability changes.
  • Lead the Office-Deposit function, including monetary maintenance and sales audits.
