About The Position
As the Director of Data Engineering at Henry Schein One, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data platform. This position is designed for an innovator and a leader who is passionate about Big Data and its potential to drive competitive advantages for our organization. You will lead a talented team responsible for developing and delivering a robust, scalable, and performant data platform that serves our customers, subsidiaries, and developers. Your leadership will be crucial in implementing a modern data mesh architecture from the ground up, ensuring that our data platform supports near-real-time ingestion, processing, and access to data. In this role, you will be responsible for refining our data strategy and architecture, building data pipelines, and creating data structures and transformations that facilitate the consumption of data by various stakeholders. You will also engage in advanced research and analysis to enhance data ingestion, cleansing, and exploration processes, ultimately driving actionable insights that benefit the organization. Your expertise will guide the team in evaluating new tools and approaches to continuously evolve our data sourcing, transformation, and scaling methodologies. You will leverage your extensive experience in managing data validation and governance, ensuring compliance with global regulations such as HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR. Your knowledge of data modeling techniques, including star and snowflake modeling, will influence our ability to perform near-real-time queries and traditional OLAP SQL queries. As a hands-on leader, you will challenge the status quo and push our organization forward, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the data platform team.
