About The Position

The Marion County Crisis Center provides 24-hour, 7-day-a-week walk-in mental health services to the greater Salem area and all of Marion County. The Crisis Clinician 2 plays a crucial role in delivering crisis mental health assessments to individuals in need, along with brief case management, resource identification, and referral options. This position is essential in ensuring that individuals experiencing mental health crises receive timely and appropriate support. Crisis mental health treatment may be conducted at our crisis center and occasionally in hospital settings, allowing for a diverse range of interactions with clients in various environments. Training will be provided on-the-job for those unfamiliar with crisis work, ensuring that all clinicians are well-equipped to handle the complexities of mental health crises. In this role, the clinician will be knowledgeable about community options and services available to clients. The position offers the opportunity to engage the Salem community in identifying services and resources that will support and empower clients. The work schedule for this position is Sunday to Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., which allows for a unique working environment that caters to the needs of clients during evening and nighttime hours. Additionally, the position includes a recruitment bonus for new employees and a relocation package for those moving from outside of Oregon, demonstrating the county's commitment to attracting qualified professionals to serve the community. The Crisis Clinician 2 is responsible for providing assessments and treatment to individuals and families, including group therapy. This role involves crisis assessment and intervention services, with a primary focus on delivering intensive services to individuals and families with complex needs and diagnoses. The clinician will work under the supervision of a designated supervisor who will assign work, establish goals, and review the effectiveness of the services provided. While supervision of others is not a primary responsibility, the clinician may act as a Clinical Supervisor designee when needed and assist in supervising practicum students and/or volunteers.
