About The Position
Bloom Companies, LLC is seeking a Bridge Design Manager to lead and support the growth and success of the bridge practice within the firm. This role is pivotal in driving business development, talent acquisition, project delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be based in Minnesota and will be responsible for researching respective markets, developing client relationships, and identifying business opportunities across the state. As an expert in the industry, the Bridge Design Manager will leverage strong client connections to enhance the firm's presence and capabilities in bridge engineering. The Bridge Design Manager will provide leadership and guidance in technical specialties, overseeing overall bridge practice operations. A solid understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and DOT consulting expectations is essential. The role includes acting as Project Principal or Lead Engineer on various bridge design, rehabilitation, and inspection projects, managing scope, schedule, staffing, and budget effectively. The manager will also coordinate tasks among multidisciplinary project teams to conduct analyses, develop design solutions, and lead the preparation of design drawings, calculations, and specifications for fixed bridge engineering projects. Quality control is a critical aspect of this position, as the Bridge Design Manager will perform reviews of bridge design deliverables and ensure that all assigned work meets the highest standards. The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects efficiently while meeting deadlines and project budgets is crucial. The role also involves mentoring staff and fostering a goal-oriented team capable of delivering complex projects, thereby contributing to the overall growth and success of the bridge practice at Bloom Companies.
