About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Bilingual Research Services Professional to join the Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS). This full-time position is focused on supporting a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant aimed at improving family meal quality and quantity to combat childhood obesity. The project utilizes innovative technologies such as ecological momentary intervention (EMI) and video feedback, alongside in-person education, to engage families with young children. The role involves working with over 500 families across Denver, CO, and the Twin Cities, MN, providing a six-month intervention designed to enhance the quality and quantity of family meals through motivational interviewing and SMART goal setting. The successful candidate will be part of a team of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and will be responsible for conducting intervention visits, both virtually and in-person, at families' homes. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as visits will often need to occur during evenings and weekends to accommodate families' availability. The CHW will serve as the main contact for assigned participants, providing ongoing support and tracking study progress. Additionally, the role includes preparing for intervention visits by creating and translating materials, reviewing recorded family meals, and assisting families in identifying necessary resources such as food assistance. The position also involves attending training sessions, maintaining compliance with regulations, and engaging in regular meetings with the Intervention Director and CHW team. The CHW will develop and utilize skills in motivational interviewing and SMART goal setting, oversee case management, and contribute to the development of program materials for families. This role is critical in fostering healthy home environments and advancing the goals of the Family Matters Program.
