About The Position
Kidango is an early learning nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. As the largest child care provider in the San Francisco Bay Area, we focus on providing safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for children, particularly those from low-income families. Our mission extends beyond direct service; we engage in policy work to influence early childhood education at various levels, ensuring that all children develop the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for success. In the role of Associate Teacher for the Early Head Start program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the Creative Curriculum, ensuring that the educational environment meets the developmental needs of children. You will create a safe and healthy classroom atmosphere in compliance with Head Start regulations, while also fostering positive relationships with families to support their role as primary educators. This position requires conducting parent/teacher meetings, maintaining written records, and integrating federal mandates into daily routines. Your commitment to inclusive practices will be essential as you accommodate children with learning differences and special needs. You will also be expected to collaborate with families to develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for children in your cohort. This role is vital in promoting a continuous and interactive process between families and program providers, ensuring that all children receive the personalized support they need to thrive.
