The Assistant Nurse Manager for the Med Surg unit at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland is responsible for managing the daily activities of the unit, ensuring that quality, service, and utilization standards are met. The Assistant Nurse Manager will also supervise daily unit operations, including human resources management, department and employee safety programs, and risk management. Additionally, the Assistant Nurse Manager will monitor the quality of service and utilization standards, taking specific responsibility for patient care at the unit level. This includes ensuring coordinated treatment plans, customer-focused care, and cost-effective utilization of services. The role also involves collaboration with healthcare providers outside of the unit to achieve optimal patient care across the continuum. The Assistant Nurse Manager will research, identify, and implement best practice models from other units and will investigate and resolve patient and family member concerns regarding patient care.
