About The Position

Cleveland State Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Faculty Pool - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructors. The primary responsibility of the EMT Instructors is to provide quality instruction that fosters student learning while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment. Instructors will be tasked with teaching and evaluating students in various course formats, including in-person classes at multiple locations and online courses. Communication with students is essential, as instructors are expected to engage with them between classes and address any inquiries promptly. Additionally, instructors will have several administrative responsibilities, including reporting on academic activities and submitting final grades in a timely manner. The role requires instructors to plan and teach classes according to the course descriptions, syllabi, and departmental guidelines. Instructors must begin and end classes as scheduled, ensuring that all relevant learning outcomes are covered. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior is crucial to creating an environment conducive to learning. Instructors will evaluate students using diverse assessment methods and provide timely feedback on their performance. Administrative duties include using Cleveland State email for communication and meeting deadlines for various administrative requests, such as submitting personnel paperwork and final grades. Instructors will also need to submit requests for instructional materials through the appropriate channels. This position is part of a continuous application process, meaning that applications for adjunct faculty positions are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed when openings arise. Future teaching assignments will be determined on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer semesters. It is important for applicants to note that postings close yearly on October 31, and to maintain their application within the system, they will need to re-apply each year.
