About The Position

As a CNC Mill Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Your primary duties will include selecting appropriate tools, loading materials, monitoring machine operations, and ensuring the quality of finished parts. You will work closely with shift leaders and other machinists to meet production goals and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred.
  • Experience with G&M Code. Experience with Mazatrol is a plus.
  • 2-7+ years of experience operating a Mill or Lathe making offsets and adjustments at the controller.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations and measurements accurately.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Select the appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
  • Set up CNC Mill machines by installing and adjusting cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Make edits on CNC machines using G-code or conversational code languages.
  • Load materials into the machine and secure them properly.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper cutting and machining.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance in CNC work centers including cleaning and 5S.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including material usage, tooling changes, and machine settings.
  • Collaborate with programmers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
