About The Position

The 15Y SME - TECH/OPERATOR I position at LSI involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert for Apache AH-64D/E helicopter training devices. The role focuses on the design, development, review, and testing of training solutions, as well as conducting technician or operator training in accordance with contractual specifications. The position requires collaboration with engineering and production teams to ensure the effective delivery of military training solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six years of experience directly related to the maintenance or operation of systems and subsystems for the assigned project.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills for training development and internal/external communications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software tools.
  • Ability to read, navigate, and interpret applicable technical manuals and engineering drawings.

  • Successful completion of an approved Military Instructor Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a SME for the development and delivery of training solutions pertaining to technicians, maintainers, or operators of military platforms, systems, or weapons.
  • Work with a team of engineering professionals to analyze, design, develop, and deliver desktop software, virtual/augmented reality simulators, and training devices.
  • Provide technical guidance during all phases of development and implementation with production and manufacturing technicians.
  • Participate in training conferences, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other required meetings.
  • Assist in developing testing documentation and device user and operator manuals.
  • Support production and engineering professionals by troubleshooting systems and/or components.
  • Determine suitable replacements of OEM components with Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) components.
  • Advise on the proper installation of components and secure routing of wires.
  • Identify spares for logistical support of training devices.
  • Develop training curriculum and courseware or other instructional products and present them to the customer.
  • Perform Contractor Preliminary Inspections (CPI) and Contractor Final Inspections (CFI).
  • Accompany training device deliveries to ensure proper handling and care during transportation.
  • Comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
