• B.S. in Mechanical, product, or industrial engineering
• 5+ years of experience in engineering design of consumer products
• 2+ years experience working with (and visiting) overseas vendors on new physical product development.
• Expertise in:
  • Injection molded plastic product design
  • PRD and DFM principles
  • CAD modeling (Solidworks strongly preferred)
  • Prototyping methods
• Semi-annual travel to China and Korea for new product launch validation
• Must have a candid demeanor
• Proven ability to evaluate risks, make decisions and give honest feedback and criticism
• Love collaborating with both creative dreamers and financial analysts, and can be equally persuasive to both types of people
• Enjoy getting into the weeds and getting your hands very dirty, when needed

• Lead engineering development of Tushy consumer products to be durable, cost-effective, user-friendly, high quality, and sustainable.
• Develop and manage project plans/timelines from product exploration to production while working with the designer to balance design, costs and consumer benefits.
• Mentor the less experienced engineers on the team by providing guidance and feedback while identifying opportunities for career growth.
• Work with overseas factories to generate designs that are manufacturable and within their ability to produce, while pushing the factories to expand their resources. Continue to work with factories after tooling to prepare products for production.
• Explore areas of innovation to determine viability for future products/features.
• Grow the engineering capabilities of the team and identify resources needed for future growth.
• Help source and qualify potential overseas vendors.

We are seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to manage the engineering aspects of product development and mentor a small team of product engineers. Candidates must have demonstrated success in a collaborative and fast-paced work environment, and be excited to make an impact at a small but growing company (we’ve developed over a dozen products so far, from 2015 - 2023). Role reports into TUSHY’s Senior Director for Product Development.
