About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented, well-versed Senior Brand Designer who loves crafting comprehensive visual brands and identities. As our Senior Brand Designer, you'll work closely with the leadership and strategy team at Motto® to solve our clients' unique challenges and be responsible for the creation of branding assets such as brand identity and style guides, type systems, color systems, iconography, patterns, packaging, and more. You'll also assist in finalizing those assets based on our direction. 

We are seeking a contract role at 30-40 hours per week. FT employment possible.

Requirements

  • Experience with creating comprehensive brand deliverables such as identity, style guides, iconography, etc.
  • A portfolio with clear signs of critical thinking and strong typography skills.
  • A strong workflow with the Adobe Suite in a Mac setting.
  • Working collaboratively is comfortable for you.
  • Ability to receive direction as well as take initiative.
  • Succinct ability to articulately explain design decisions to teammates and clients.
  • Experience with visual design mockups.
  • Have a working understanding of print and digital production.
  • Undergraduate degree in graphic design or similar experience.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with leadership, as well as other team members, to achieve client and agency objectives.
  • Work as a Motto® team member to comprehensively execute brand deliverables such as identity, logomarks/logotypes, iconography, color palettes, patterns, packaging and social templates.
  • Create beautiful design systems that makes a positive impact.
  • Can envision and execute a brand visual system in a holistic way.
  • Understands timelines and can meet established schedules, timeframes and deliverables set to be delivered to clients.
  • Maintain the highest standards for all deliverables produced by Motto®.
  • Build robust visual libraries within Adobe Creative Suite for each client.
  • Work on branding projects, from brainstorming and initial concepts through final production.
  • Creation of comprehensive brand identity style guides and presentations.

  • Possess exceptional design and presentation skills - you can walk Clients through your thinking and your rationale. 
  • You can handle constructive-criticism well and you use that feedback as a tool for improving your work. 
  • Practices design-thinking and a balanced aesthetic.
  • Versatile, dynamic, and able to build out complex brand systems. 
  • Passionate about typography, color, and understand brand volume and the need for flexible brand kits that clients can scale with.
