About the position

As the Risk Specialist, Fraud, you will work with the Fraud Manager to assist with the development of the fraud prevention strategy as well as the development and execution of the tactics to help mitigate losses. This function is tasked with ensuring the safety, and earning the trust, of all our clients and Taskers on the TaskRabbit platform. This will be accomplished through close partnership with the Risk Operations team and other teams as necessary. The scope of role encompasses all areas where fraud may potentially occur, and includes data analysis, dispute representment, and data monitoring. 
The Risk Specialist, Fraud is responsible for helping guide investigations, identifying new fraud patterns, proactively mitigating loss, responding to disputes manually as needed, and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or work equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2+ years in Risk Operations or conducting investigations on behalf of an organization, with a bent toward experience in a Managed Marketplace.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • You are effective at critical thinking, understanding policies, and making tradeoffs
  • Experience with business analytics tools like Looker and Fraud investigation tools like DataVisor, Stripe Radar and Emailage.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Support, Legal, and RTP teams to manage specific customer escalations, customer deep dives and executive escalations.
  • Analytical mindset and creative thinker to assist with Risk and Fraud projects which directly contribute to company objectives and key results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are proactive, clear, concise, and comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for driving toward an excellent customer experience.

  • Fraud escalations from RiskOps team
  • Targeted investigations into category and job fraud
  • Targeted investigations into collusion
  • Targeted investigations into Gift cards and promo abuse 
  • Early Fraud Warning reviews 
  • Fraud rules in DataVisor
  • Tracking fraud results of fraud efforts
  • Queue work as needed
  • Proactive Trademark infringement investigation and/or other sites attempting to exploit/target Taskrabbit users 
  • Other work not yet identified in the Risk and Fraud space

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various departments in different time zones.
  • Ability to handle multiple internal customer inquiries and the Fraud queue work.
  • Ability to draw business level conclusions based on policy, data gathering and investigation.
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Consistently available to rapidly respond to interdepartmental requests and escalations
  • Adapts well to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Professional, positive, and approachable attitude.
