About the position

Requirements

  • PhD + 8+ years (can include postdoc experience), in pharmacology, or related discipline (must have a minimum of 2+ years industry leading early discovery projects to IND, functional lead experience acceptable)
  • Proficient in experimental biological techniques such as immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Luminex), qPCR, biochemical assays, enzyme kinetics, Western Blot, RNA extractions, etc.
  • Working knowledge of cell cultures, including mammalian cell culture
  • Compound screening experience
  • Experience with neuroscience is a plus
  • Developed novel complex model systems (didn't just purchase off the shelf)
  • Transcriptomics (RNA extractions, library prep), experience with NGS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the in-vitro pharmacology team, working across programs to enable characterization and screening of new compounds.
  • Develop and execute in vitro assays to validate compound activity using cell-free and cell-based models.
  • Perform cell cultures and mainteneance of cell lines to be used to evaluate small molecules in high and medium throughput assays.
  • Perform assays to enable chemistry SAR iterations.
  • Screen and test libraries of small molecules in both internal assays and with CROs.
  • Mange CRO relationships to support high-throughput screens.
  • Accurate and organized data entry, analysis, technical report writing, and presentation of experimental results to research groupsIdentification of best model / troubleshooting / leading projects.
  • Select and champion complex, yet robust in vitro model systems for target biology.
  • Manage a direct report to enable high and medium throughput screens to support all drug discovery programs.
