About the position

The Zero Trust Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Base One Technologies will lead the development and implementation of security modernization strategies to enhance the organization's security posture. This role focuses on architecting and operating various operational platforms essential for a Zero Trust architecture, including Identity, Credential, Access Management (ICAM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Privileged Access Management. The SME will collaborate with infrastructure stakeholders to create roadmaps for transitioning to an Enterprise Zero Trust architecture, ensuring the protection of critical resources and alignment with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and delivery of enterprise-wide adoption of operational platforms for Zero Trust.
  • Establish and refine customer capabilities, best practices, and adoption roadmap for Zero Trust.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure leaders to build security roadmaps for network, compute, and storage.
  • Drive alignment to and adoption of industry-leading technologies and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT solution teams to integrate Zero Trust capabilities that improve agency security posture.
  • Enable the success of application operations as new Zero Trust-based security frameworks are adopted.
  • Build talent of engineers responsible for the full lifecycle of security services.
  • Address Zero Trust capability architecture and implementation with Network/Enterprise Security Architecture skills.
  • Integrate federal government requirements into agency policies and directives.
  • Construct oversight bodies and implement automated operational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related field and 6 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with management, operational, and technical aspects of IT Security in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience with in-depth analysis of Zero Trust Capabilities, Infrastructures, and Architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Typically requires BS degree with 12 to 15 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 5 years of team and/or operational leadership experience.
  • 5 years experience in USG cyber risk management, assessments, and authorization (A&A).
  • 5 years experience in designing and engineering enterprise IT solutions within the USG using NIST Special Publications.
  • Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
