About The Position

This supervisor's role is to manage the day-to-day operations of several residential semi-independent and independent youth residential settings. Each young person plans to complete their education and obtain and develop the life skills that will lead to successful adulthood. Responsibilities include managing staff schedules, developing and coordinating independent living skills training, recreational activities, and cultural enrichment programming for the youth participating in the program.

Requirements

  • BSW (or equivalent as defined by Child Welfare Licensing)
  • Valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must complete all required background clearances
  • State of Michigan Licensing Requirements: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience in a child-caring institution.
  • State of Michigan Licensing Requirements: Two years of college from an accredited college or university and 3 years of work experience in a child-caring institution.
  • State of Michigan Licensing Requirements: A high school diploma and 4 years of work experience in a child-caring institution.
  • Satisfactory MDHHS Central Registry Clearance and State Police Record Check.
  • Negative TB test.
  • Negative drug screen.
  • Satisfactory physical exam within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in Child Welfare, Child Caring Institution is preferred.
  • One year of related experience is preferred.
  • Great communicator and detail-focused individual.
  • Can connect with young people.
  • Ensure that all requirements for placement are in place.
  • Can collaborate and coordinate with various partner agencies.
