About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Youth and Young Adult Recovery Services Supervisor in the Office of Addiction Services and Supports, Division of Harm Reduction and Recovery Support Services. This role is responsible for strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of all OASAS-funded young adult recovery residences, youth clubhouses, and youth services at Recovery Community Outreach Centers, as well as any future OASAS initiatives related to youth-focused recovery support services across NYS. The selected candidate should possess strong management, writing, and oral communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders and independently as part of a team. Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint.

Requirements

  • 8 years of full-time professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR Associate's degree with 6 years of full-time professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR Bachelor's degree with 4 years of professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR Master's degree with 3 years of full-time professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR Ph.D. with 2 years of full-time professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR Ed.D. with 1 year of full-time professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health or mental health field.
  • Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in public health, public administration, sociology, psychology or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and expansion of youth and young adult recovery services infrastructure
  • Development of statewide guidance, standards, policies and procedures
  • Data oversight, performance monitoring, and outcome evaluation
  • Interagency and cross-system collaboration and meeting attendance
  • Direct oversight of additional youth and young adult/recovery initiatives
  • Supervision of youth-focused staff within the Division of Harm Reduction & Recovery Support Services
  • Represent the agency at statewide meetings, conferences and collaborative forums, providing subject matter expertise on recovery support services and related initiatives
  • Provide strategic leadership in fostering a cohesive, high-performing team environment that promotes collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, strengthen and maintain partnerships with governmental agencies, community-based organizations, recovery community organizations and other stakeholders to expand access to youth/young adult recovery supports.
  • Serve as a member of the Bureau of Recovery and Social Needs leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development and programmatic decision-making.
