About The Position

The Yard Jockey is responsible for jockeying trailers under the direction of a supervisor or foreman, loading trucks as needed, and performing other assigned duties. This includes preparing for the day by completing vehicle condition reports (VCRs) for the jockey truck and forklift, and organizing and cleaning the work area. The role involves moving trailers from the lot to dock doors and back, working with the foreman and supervisor to move raw material loads, and installing/removing trailer stands. Additionally, the Yard Jockey will review bills of lading (BOL) for products to be loaded, complete final certification for outbound loads, and handle out-of-stock items with the foreman. They will also wrap partial pallets, process paperwork in the National Inventory System (NIS) or hand it to a supervisor, and stage or load pallets into trucks. Clean-up duties include completing partial pallets, putting away mixed pallets, and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • MUST COMPLETE HI LO QUALIFICATIONS PRIOR TO YARD JOCKEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years or older; 21 years or older if Valid U.S. CDL required
  • Valid U.S. CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
  • Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test (if applicable)
  • Follow DOT regulations (if applicable)
  • Job may include pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying between 20 and 50 lbs. throughout the shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English if CDL required
  • Comply with all PepsiCo Beverages North America Safety Rules

Responsibilities

  • Jockey trailers under direction of supervisor or foreman

  • Organize and clean work area
  • Move trailers from lot to dock doors and back to lot as directed
  • Work with foreman and supervisor to move raw material loads to doors as needed
  • Install/Remove Trailer Stands as necessary
  • Review BOL for product to be loaded
  • Complete final certification for all outbound loads
  • See foreman for out of stock items
  • Wrap any partial pallets when complete
  • Process paper work in NIS (National Inventory System) or hand to supervisor
  • Stage pallet and/or load into truck when ready
  • Complete partial pallets and put away mixed pallets
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards in work area
