About the position

As a Yard Jockey at Capstone Logistics, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our logistics and supply chain services. This position is ideal for candidates looking to work as 1099 Independent Contractors rather than traditional employees. Your primary responsibilities will include operating sprinter vans and trucks, performing inspections of vehicles before and after operation, and ensuring the yard is clean and organized. You will be working closely with a major grocery retailer, moving vans from the yard to the fulfillment center, and assisting delivery drivers as needed. Safety is a top priority at Capstone, and you will be expected to participate in Safety Team meetings to promote open communication and adherence to safety protocols. In addition to vehicle operation, your daily functions will involve warehouse work, such as rolling pallets on and off vans, cleaning the inside and outside of vehicles, and maintaining accurate daily logs to report productivity. You will also be responsible for communicating with other shifts to ensure a seamless transition and maintain operational efficiency. Reading work orders to determine assignments and identifying appropriate equipment needs will be part of your routine. The role requires you to lift and carry materials weighing between 25 to 75 lbs, and you should be prepared to sit or stand for extended periods on concrete flooring, which may involve changing temperatures. This position offers a flexible work schedule, with shifts running from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, four days a week, including one weekend day.
