About the position
The primary responsibility of a Yard Driver is to maneuver trailers with the company-provided vehicle. Must be comfortable with utilizing a vehicle to back trailers into designated dock, while maintaining safety and efficiency of the warehouse operations. Must be able to work a schedule performing eight plus hours per day which could include overtime, weekends, and holidays when required. Prior experience with 3PL, Retail Distribution, and Reserve Logistics/E-commerce experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and transports requested trailers to and from yard and dock locations within the yard.
- Ability to locate all physical locations.
- Operate equipment that is required to complete the task.
- Inspecting the trailers before and after loading to verify their condition.
- Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Maintaining a clean and organized environment within trailers.
- Maintain safe work.
Requirements
- GED/High School Diploma and/or prior experience helpful.
- Ability to follow and comprehend instructions from leadership.
- Driver license is required.
- CDL experience preferred.
- Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
- Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry objects.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Ability to stand and use hands for eight plus hours per day.
- Must have good communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience with 3PL, Retail Distribution, and Reserve Logistics/E-commerce experience is a plus.
