About The Position

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization, and operational flow of the shipping and cable yard. This role ensures that materials are properly staged, stored, and prepared for shipping while maintaining a safe and orderly yard environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in operating forklifts. The position involves physically demanding outdoor work and requires effective communication and coordination with supervisors and team members.

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience is required.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing approximately 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to perform outdoor work in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of the shipping and cable yard.
• Coordinate and stage inventory for shipping, production, and storage needs.
• Load, unload, move, and stack materials using a forklift.
• Perform routine yard inspections to ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and accessible.
• Assist with inventory counts, reconciliation, and documentation as needed.
• Work closely with shipping, receiving, and production teams to support workflow.
• Monitor yard safety, report hazards, and follow all OSHA and company safety policies.
• Ensure accurate placement and tracking of materials within designated yard areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
