About the position
The Yard Associate role involves managing inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate delivery and customer satisfaction. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized work environment while handling customer orders and vendor deliveries. The associate will also be responsible for the upkeep of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Handles inbound and outbound freight to ensure delivery is done correctly.
- Prepares customer orders from pick lists for product pick up and delivery.
- Unloads vendor deliveries and inbound freight, checking packing slips for accuracy and damage.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the yard and work areas.
- Repairs pallets and performs general maintenance on buildings and equipment.
- Responsible for the upkeep of Hi/Lo equipment and communicates repair needs to mechanics.
- Follows safety manual for team and customers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with a fork truck certificate.
- 5+ years of experience working in a warehouse or yard environment.
- Understanding of truck turn-arounds and proper shipping and receiving functions.

- Strong communication skills for customer interaction.
